Encouraged to take full ownership
All projects within the ITP program are strategically important for companies in the group. Trainees are encouraged to take full ownership of the scope and approach. Overcoming the initial struggles and embracing the responsibility was very rewarding. It gave me a deeper understanding of my own capabilities, which I consider crucial in my further development of leadership skills.
Develop foundational skills
ITP enabled me to develop foundational skills that are essential in any challenging and analytical environment. I decided to follow the momentum by joining one of the group companies, Formica Asia, as a business analyst. I have the ability to continue my growth by navigating several projects at the same time, which requires developing an even more result-oriented and pragmatic approach.
What I like about the group are Broadview’s key values – integrity, responsibility and transparency. Those qualities are more than just a slogan and truly resound throughout the whole organization. Working in a transparent, fact-oriented environment is very rewarding.
Analytics as the base
To me, a fact-based culture means that decisions in the group are made based on empirical evidence rather than intuition. It also implies a lack of politics. Therefore, being part of the group requires not only highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills, but also high integrity, confidence and an open mind to challenge others or to be challenged. This creates a highly effective and pragmatic work environment that I personally enjoy being a part of.
Work with senior management
Working directly with senior management helps me put my projects in a broader perspective. Understanding how they fit into the overall strategy of the group makes defining goals and prioritization easier. It also provides a great opportunity to learn how to communicate in a structured and concise way.
My projects and current position
My first rotation took place at Arpa Industriale in Bra, Italy, where I was working on market intelligence and commercial strategy for one of the key regions. I stayed at Arpa for the second rotation, to coordinate the execution of a market plan, which was a conclusion of my first project. For my third ITP assignment, I joined Direct Online Services in Gloucester, where I was focused on leveraging the company’s digital marketing expertise to support other companies in the group.
In my current role at Formica Asia, based in Singapore, I manage several strategic projects and provide analytical support to the management.
